New Brush 8 |
September 21, 2024 | |
The First Hose Company of Boonsboro recently placed in service a 2006 F450 4x4 brush truck. The F450 previously served with the Union Hose Company in Annville, PA (Lebanon County) and was purchased in late spring. This unit will run out of our station on Rohrersville Road. After fabrication work, minor rehab, and mounting of the skid unit, the unit was inspected to ensure it met Washington County Stardards and was placed in service. The larger, newer, chassis will make a more stable platform for both operating as a stand-alone brush truck and for towing one of our wildland support trailers with either our UTV or Gator. The new Brush 8 replaces a 1994 F350 brush unit that was acquired from the Neersville Volunteer Fire Department in Loudoun County, VA when that department disbanded. The 1994 F350 will move to downtown Boonsboro and will become Brush 6. The current Brush 6, a 1992 F350 acquired from New Market District Volunteer Fire Department (Frederick County, MD) will be retired. This truck will be placed out for silent bid shortly, and will be advertised on our department website and Facebook page. Again, we can't thank our community for their support. With YOUR support we were able to make this acquisition to better serve YOU. Again, thank you!! |
